Fans of the historical romance series Bridgerton should clear their calendars and head to beautiful Bowral from Tuesday 16 April for a special “Ton” celebration.
For one week, select locations and shopfronts around the equally historical town will be dressed up to reflect the elegance of 1800s London, the setting of the iconic Netflix series.
The celebrations will mark the third season of the show, with fans getting a chance to watch the first episode at Bowral’s own Empire Cinemas before it premieres on Netflix. There will be four free screenings on 22 and 23 April, with ticketing information to be announced shortly.
The show, developed by Shondaland (the company behind hit shows Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder) is set in the lavish and competitive world of regency London high society.
At the heart of the show is the powerful Bridgerton family, comprised of eight close-knit siblings.
In season three, Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) has finally given up on her long-held crush on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) after hearing his disparaging words about her last season.
Colin has returned from his summer travels with a new look and a serious sense of swagger. But he’s disheartened to realise that Penelope, the one person who always appreciated him as he was, is giving him the cold shoulder.
The second season of Bridgerton was the most watched English-language television series on Netflix following its launch in March 2022.
While some details of the decadent week are yet to be announced, Netflix has confirmed a “seductive soiree” will close the proceedings on Tuesday 23 April.
The grounds of Milton Park will host a regency-themed Garden Party, “a spectacular afternoon celebration that’s set to be the envy of every debutant and gentleman in high society”.
Registrations for the garden party of the season will soon open; click here for more information.
Bridgerton season three (episodes one to four) premieres 16 May on Netflix.
