NSW Police have urged drivers to plan ahead if they go out drinking, after an accident on Macquarie Pass.
A NSW Police spokesperson said that at about 3 pm on 9 August Lake Illawarra Police attended a single-vehicle accident on the Illawarra Highway, Macquarie Pass.
“A white Subaru Outback failed to negotiate a left-hand corner before it left the roadway and crashed into trees,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“The car was driven by a 26-year-old male who was the only occupant of the vehicle.”
The man allegedly failed a roadside breath test before he was arrested and conveyed back to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis.
“The analysis returned a high range reading of 0.219 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath,” the spokesperson alleged.
“The male was charged with high-range PCA (second offence) and his licence was suspended.”
Fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident.
