A man has been charged with weapons, drugs and traffic offences following a pursuit in the Dapto area last week.
A NSW Police spokesperson said at about 8:10 pm on Friday (6 September), officers attached to the Southern Region Operational Support Group were conducting patrols in Koonawarra when they saw two unregistered motorbikes riding on Wyndarra Way.
“Police attempted to stop the motorbikes; however, a pursuit was initiated after the riders allegedly failed to stop,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“When at the intersection of Lakelands Drive, one of the bikes lost control and crashed into a guard rail, causing the rider to fall.
“Officers arrested the 25-year-old man and, during a subsequent search, located and seized a 12-gauge shotgun, methylamphetamine, a large sum of cash, and further illicit drugs.
“After attending Shellharbour Hospital, the man was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he was charged with 12 offences, including police pursuit, driving while disqualified, possessing a shortened firearm, and possessing a loaded firearm in a public place.”
The Albion Park Rail man was bail refused.
