Police are appealing for information following a suspicious car fire in the Illawarra.
In June, Strike Force Clept was established to investigate the car fire, and two people who were allegedly at the scene according to a NSW Police spokesperson.
“About 11:50 pm on Wednesday 12 June 2024 emergency services were called to a house on Thomas Street, Lake Illawarra following reports of a car fire,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“Fire and Rescue were called and extinguished the fire. The car, a Ford Focus, was extensively damaged.
“The pair fled from the scene in a car,” the spokesperson alleged.
“Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police Station responded and established a crime scene.”
As inquiries continue police have released CCTV images of two males who they believe can help with their investigation.
The first male is described as 170 cm tall, of medium build, wearing a black ‘Geedup’ branded jumper, black pants and black shoes.
The second male is described as 170 cm tall, of medium build, wearing black pants and a black jumper with a motif on the upper arm sleeve.
