An Irish pop punk band, a rapper from the United States, an English rock group and Grammy-award nominated icons are among the international stars set to head to Wollongong next year for the Yours and Owls Festival.
The major event on Illawarra’s music calendar has announced its line-up for the multi-stage festival to be held in March with more acts to be revealed in the coming months.
Big names already locked in include the Goo Goo Dolls, who’ve had success for decades with hit anthems such as ‘Iris’, which was number one on the Hot 100 for 18 straight weeks, named the Number 1 Top 40 Song of the Last 20 Years and which recently achieved seven-times-platinum status.
Fellow Grammy-nominated band Fontaines D.C. from Dublin will also be taking the stage as will Floridian rapper Denzel Curry.
Also in the mix is one of Australia’s most familiar and favourite festival headliners, The Kooks.
There will be plenty of Australian talent alongside the international acts with The Veronicas and Peach PRC adding to the dozens of performers announced already as well as the Illawarra’s very own success story Hockey Dad returning to the Yours and Owls stage.
The 10th birthday for the beloved event which attracts festivalgoers right across the country was originally pitched to run late this year but was delayed.
“There is a lot of turbulence in festival space right now, with rising costs and specifically the lack of headliner talent availability in the tail end of 2024,” organiser Ben Tillman said earlier this year.
“Moving the main festival to early 2025 gives us a better shot at pulling off something we are 100 per cent happy with to celebrate our 10th year.”
The two-day-event will run on 1 and 2 March 2025 and combine music, local arts, incredible food and drinks with four stages to choose from.
This latest Yours and Owls Festival will be for those 16 years or older with those under 18 years of age required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
Pre-sale for the event will be released at 9 am on 29 October before tickets go on sale to the general public at 9 am on 30 October.
