A motorbike rider is in a stable condition after an alleged high-speed crash on the Princes Highway on Thursday night.

Asked about the accident, which closed the highway for some time, a NSW Police spokesperson said police first saw the rider at about 10 pm on Thursday (14 November).

“Officers attached to the Southern Operation Support Group were patrolling near Oakhurst Close, Avondale, when a motorbike was allegedly sighted travelling at high speed,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“A short time later, at the intersection of the Princes Highway, Cleveland Road, Dapto officers found the rider on the side of the road after allegedly colliding with a hatchback.

“NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 33-year-old male rider for facial and hand injuries. He was taken to St George Hospital in a stable condition.

“The 62-year-old female driver of the car was not injured.”
