Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter

Dog of the week: Mars

Meet Mars!

Mars is a two-year-old male pug with a playful personality and a big heart, ready to find his forever family.

This charming little guy has a moderate lifestyle — he enjoys bursts of energy mixed with plenty of time to relax and soak up attention.

While his training is still a work in progress, Mars is eager to learn and is sure to thrive with a family committed to helping him become his best self.

Pugs like Mars are known for their affectionate nature and quirky personalities; they’re wonderful companions who love being part of the family.

Their goofy antics and love for cuddles are sure to make every day brighter.

Mars would do best in a home with dog-savvy kids aged 12 and over who can match his lively energy and give him plenty of love.

A securely enclosed backyard or an attached outdoor space would be ideal for his daily exercise and sniffing adventures.

While he gets along with other animals at home, Mars can be a little selective with other dogs, so off-leash parks aren’t his thing.

If you already have a pup, a meet-and-greet is a must to ensure they’ll be great companions.

Mars has some ongoing medical needs, including future surgeries that will be completed at the RSPCA Veterinary Hospital in Yagoona.

To ensure a smooth recovery, he’d love the chance to settle into his new home before his next procedures.

For this reason, his ideal adopter will be located in the Sydney, Illawarra, or Central Coast area to allow for easy travel to his vet appointments.

If you’re looking for a little rocket of a companion, Mars could be your perfect match!

Cat of the week: Cosmo

Meet Cosmo!

Prepare to welcome a star in your life – Cosmo is a sweet two-year-old domestic short hair girl with galaxies of love to share.

This playful yet laid-back feline is searching for her forever home, and she might just be the perfect companion for someone looking to add a little sparkle to their day-to-day.

Cosmo is a medium-energy explorer who loves a good play session with her toys, followed by a nap in her favorite cozy spot.

Whether she’s gazing out the window or lounging in a sunny patch, Cosmo always finds joy in the little things in life.

When it’s time to relax, Cosmo knows the drill and will happily curl up next to you, ready for some soft gentle pats, and if you’re lucky, she might reward you with some of her sweet signature purrs.

This stellar gal is looking for a calm and peaceful household where she can feel safe and loved.

She’ll thrive with a family that has children aged 12 and older who can appreciate her gentle nature and give her the space she needs at times.

Cosmo would prefer to be your only feline friend — after all, she’s a star who deserves the spotlight!

With her sleek coat and low-maintenance grooming needs, Cosmo is an easy addition to your home.

A gentle brush every now and then is all it takes to keep her looking sharp.

She’s an attentive companion with a curious demeanour, always observing her surroundings and ready for a stickybeak.

Being a nosy neighbour is all part of her one-of-a-kind charm!

If you’re ready to give this shining star a place to call home, come meet her at the Illawarra shelter.

Last week’s Dog of the Week, Max, is on a trial adoption. Rabbit of the week, Philly, is still looking for his forever home.
