Police are asking for the public’s help after multiple break and enters in the Woonona area.
Officers attached to Wollongong Police District have begun investigations after multiple reports of businesses and homes broken into over the long weekend.
A NSW Police spokesperson alleged that at about 2:20 am on Sunday (26 January), two unknown men broke into a cafe on Park Road, Woonona, where they stole an amount of cash and left the scene.
“About 1:30 am on Saturday (25 January), an unknown person broke into a house on Pendlebury Parade, Woonona,” the NSW Police spokesperson alleged.
“No items have been reported stolen at this stage.
“Sometime between 11 pm on Friday (24 January) and 6:30 am on Saturday (25 January), a grey Mitsubishi ute was stolen from a property on Beach Drive, Woonona.
“At about 1:20 pm on Sunday (26 January), police found the vehicle abandoned on Campbell Street, Woonona.
“The vehicle was seized for forensic analysis.
“Sometime before 6:30 am on Saturday (24 January), an unknown person broke into a house on Campbell Street, Woonona, where they stole a wallet, mobile phone, ID cards and house keys.
“Sometime between 3:30 pm on Friday (24 January) and 6 am on Saturday 25 (January), an amount of cash was stolen from a cafe on Princes Highway, Woonona.
“Following inquiries, police believe the five incidents are related.”
