Acclaimed sculpture artist Philip Spelman is coming to Kiama, there are belly laughs to be had at The Builders Club and the Illawarra Folk Club is set to farewell City Diggers Club, its home of two decades, with a fantastic show.
Smarter Selling founder, director and lead trainer Charmaine Keegan will speak at the upcoming Business Connections Wollongong event and a local nutritionist is headed to Shellharbour to kick off a series of life skills seminars for adults.

Collabruary 2025

Starting the year off with a bang, Seeker Brewing has lined up a super special “Collabruary” with some mates across Australia and the US. Held over two days at the Brewhouse, you’ll sample eight collaborative beers, which will be available for takeaway or on tap, and meet the brewers behind them. Breweries include Future Brewing Syd, One Drop Brewing Co, Capital Brewing, Bright Brewery, Dangerous Ales, Banks Brewing, Ruse Brewing (USA) and Abnormal Beer Co (USA). Live music comes courtesy of Morning Mood.
“Framing Space” Sculpture Exhibition

A key figure in Sculpture by the Sea for 20 years and one of Australia’s leading abstract sculptors, Philip Spelman is bringing his colourful, instantly recognisable abstract metal sculptures to the Illawarra. Major works by Phil are featured in public spaces across Canberra including the Australian National University and Canberra Museum and Art Gallery, Pt Leo Estate Sculpture Park Mornington Peninsula, Bathurst Regional Gallery and The Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail in southern NSW, as well as major private collections in New Zealand and the USA. Bookings are required to attend the opening night on Saturday 8 February.

Illawarra Folk Festival 2025 – Volunteers Thank You Concert

The Illawarra Folk Club will host a “Thank You” concert for its volunteers at the 2025 Illawarra Folk Festival, featuring the talents of Enda Kenny and Claire Roberts. A double finalist in the 2024 Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs) for Best Solo Artist and The People’s Choice Award, Enda Kenny has delighted Australian audiences across the country for more than three decades. She will be supported by Claire Roberts, a member and favourite of the Illawarra Folk Club.
The event is also a farewell to the City Diggers Club, where the Illawarra Folk Club has held major concerts for over 20 years. The City Diggers Club is to be demolished and redeveloped this year.

Wollongong Comedy

The Builders’ monthly shows feature the cream of the Australian comedy scene, with some of the highest-profile comedy names in the country coming to perform in Wollongong’s hottest live venue. They’re kicking the year off with a ripper of a line-up featuring Australian comedy legend Chris Franklin, with MC Chris Radburn and supported by Bec Charlwood. Come for the show only at 8 pm, or book in for dinner and a show from 6 pm, including a main and dessert served alternatively.

Bring along your own craft project to work on, enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and spend some time in good company. Whether you’re knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, embroidering, scrapbooking or working on any other creative project, this is the perfect space to sit, craft and chat. The Create Space has a sewing machine, embroidery machine, Cricut and iron that participants can use free of charge.
