Girl arrested in Dunmore stabbing case

A 12-year-old girl is the sixth and youngest person to be charged in relation to a fatal stabbing at Dunmore in January.

A NSW Police spokesperson said the girl, who was arrested at about 9:30 am on Thursday (27 February) will face court in March.

“About 3 pm on Tuesday 28 January 2025, emergency services were called to Saturn Crescent, Dunmore, where a 25-year-old man was found suffering serious stab wounds,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics however, he could not be revived.

“Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District established Strike Force Feods and commenced an investigation into the incident with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

“Initial investigations revealed the man had allegedly been stabbed while being assaulted by a number of people.”

Five people – a 38-year-old woman, a 15-year-old boy and three boys aged 13 – have previously been charged in relation to the incident; they remain before the courts.

The 12-year-old girl was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station after her arrest on Thursday morning, where she was charged with affray, and assault occasioning aggravated bodily harm in company of others.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on 25 March.

Investigations under Strike Force Feods continue.
