Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for their forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter.

Ferret of the week: Tornado

Meet Tornado!

A nine-month-old albino ferret bursting with personality and energy, Tornado is a whirlwind of cheeky charm, mischief, and boundless curiosity.

He’s not your average cuddle bug – this little guy needs a savvy, ferret-experienced home where he can channel his feisty spirit into fun-filled playtime.

Tornado loves his tunnels, hammocks, and anything that lets him zip, zoom, and tumble around like the furry hurricane he is.

Toys? He’s obsessed. Hideouts? Absolutely necessary.

But don’t let his energetic nature fool you – this cheeky chap has a heart as big as his attitude.

Because of his boisterous ways, Tornado will do best in a home with teens or adults who understand ferret behaviour and can give him the structure, stimulation, and care he craves.

He might try to be the boss, but with the right guidance, he’ll be your hilarious, loyal companion.

If you’re ready to match Tornado’s zest for life and provide a forever home filled with fun and enrichment, he’s ready to meet you!

Some have brains, some have beauty – fortunately, Yoshi the rainbow lorikeet has both. He just needs a home where he can display his brilliance.

Bird of the week: Yoshi

Meet Yoshi!

A vibrant three-year-old rainbow lorikeet, Yoshi is bursting with colour and character.

Yoshi is a clever, independent, and slightly goofy bird looking for an experienced and calm home where he can truly thrive.

Yoshi isn’t your average bird – he’s a puzzle-solver, a curious explorer, and a one-of-a-kind companion who communicates in his own quirky way.

While he’s not big on constant attention, he’ll still charm you with his antics and unique birdy expressions.

Whether he’s navigating toys or simply hanging out, life with Yoshi is guaranteed to be lively and full of personality.

He’s best suited to a quiet, bird-savvy household, preferably with an aviary setup, where he can enjoy a space that allows him to move freely and safely.

Yoshi might not be the cuddliest companion, but he offers something even better – a connection based on trust, mutual respect, and feathered fun.

If you’re ready to add a splash of colour and character to your home, Yoshi might just be your perfect match.

Visit the RSPCA at 54 Industrial Rd, Unanderra, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it! Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 3:30 pm. Closed Mondays and public holidays. Call 4271 3410.
