Night roadworks will impact traffic on Crown Street, the Princes Highway and the M1 Princes Motorway between Wollongong and Figtree for the next few weeks.
Transport for NSW will be carrying out repair work on damaged sections of the Ghost Creek Bridge, just south of The Illawarra Grammar School.
The repairs underneath the bridge will impact northbound traffic on the motorway nightly until Friday 20 June, as well as Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 June (weather permitting).
During work, one lane will be closed and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place on the motorway northbound for the safety of workers and motorists.
From 8 pm on Friday 20 June to 8 pm on Saturday 21 June, there will be single lane closures and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h in place on the Princes Highway across the bridge to reduce vibration on the bridge’s structure and allow the concreting work to cure.
As well, there will be height restrictions on the northbound left-hand lane of the M1 Princes Motorway underneath Ghost Creek Bridge from 8 pm on Friday 20 June to 4 am on Thursday 26 June.
Oversize overmass vehicles and vehicles over 4.9 m in height will need to use the right-hand lane when passing underneath the bridge.
