Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while in care with Wollongong Pet Connection.
Dog of the week: Obi
Meet Obi, an eight-month-old American staffordshire terrier crossed with a mystery breed.
Obi is a happy and energetic boy who joined his foster family in mid June.
His carers say he has been a loving companion to his canine foster sibling and his cheerful personality makes every day a new adventure.
His boundless energy is perfect for families on the hunt for a lively, enthusiastic pup.
He’s also shown tremendous progress in training. Although he’s still learning, his foster carer is dedicated to helping Obi become the best boy he can be.
They say Obi’s adaptability and eagerness to please shine through.
Obi’s foster carer is also helping him refine his play style, as he can be a little mouthy with playful nibbles.
As a result Obi would be best suited to a family with older kids or adults only, who can help him continue to learn appropriate boundaries for play.
Obi thrives when surrounded by love and care and his ideal family would be one that embraces his high spirits and bubbly nature.
If you’re ready to welcome a delightful and spirited companion who is on his way to becoming a well-mannered, loving pet, Obi is excited to meet you and start creating beautiful memories together.

Cat of the week: Billy
Meet Billy, a one-year-old ginger and white domestic short hair cat.
This friendly, affectionate boy dreams of being your full-time lap buddy.
He’ll greet you at the front door when you come home and will tell you all about his day!
He thrives on human connection and will happily curl up with you for a cozy nap or an evening of relaxation.
Mealtimes are his favourite part of the day – he never misses a chance for a tasty treat and may even remind you when it’s time to eat.
Billy gets along well with other cats, making him a great fit for a multi-cat household, but he would also be happy as an only child.
Whether you’re looking to add to your feline family or searching for your first furry friend, Billy is ready to fill your home with warmth, purrs and companionship.
To arrange a meet-up with Obi or Billy, fill out the apply to adopt form on the Wollongong City Council website. A council officer will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new furry friend at a convenient location to you. Obi and Billy both come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm checked and lifetime registered.
