Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for their forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter.

Dog of the week: Nola

Meet Nola!

Nola is two-year-old American staffordshire terrier, searching for a home that can care for her sensitive heart.

Nola is a little shy and often nervous around new people. She needs a family who can make her feel at ease and adjust to a new environment at her own pace.

Once comfortable, Nola can blossom into a friendly and social companion. She gets along well with everyone, including other dogs.

Nola would thrive in a calm environment with a dog experienced family who understand her need for space and patience.

She’s currently taking regular behaviour medication to support her confidence but, with the right love and support, Nola is ready to bond with a kind and stable forever family.

Nola’s past is a bit of a mystery, but she came into care through no fault of her own.

Now she’s ready to realise her dream of starting over with a family of her own.

If you have experience with sensitive dogs and a place for Nola in your home and heart, come visit her in-person or enquire with the friendly animal care team.

Dignified Tam takes a little while to warm up to new people, but once she does she's your friend furr-ever.

Cat of the week: Tam

Meet Tam!

Tam is the ideal companion for any dedicated cat lover looking for a loyal forever friend.

This four-year-old tortoiseshell may not be the first to rush over for cuddles but once Tam feels safe and at home in your company, she absolutely adores attention.

She rewards her closest human friends with head bumps, purrs, and plenty of affection.

Tam is a notably calm and collected cat – think Professor McGonnagal without the spectacles.

She often takes her time to get settled around new places and new faces and will need a patient owner who can give her the space she needs to come out of her shell.

Although she’s been in shelter care for more than 100 days, Tam still has so much love to give the person who will make her dreams come true.

Previously featured RSPCA Dogs of the Week Skipper and Rusty are still on the lookout for their forever homes.
