Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while in care with Wollongong Pet Connection.

Dog of the week: Goose

Meet Goose!

This one-year-old German shepherd cross girl is sweet, gentle, and just beginning to learn about the world.

Goose came into foster care in late August and has already shown she is a quick learner and loving companion.

Although Goose didn’t know any commands when she arrived, she’s already getting the hang of ‘sit’ – being very food motivated helps!

Goose takes treats gently, eats politely, and isn’t food possessive, making her a great fit for multi-pet households.

Goose is living with another young male dog and is learning the ropes by watching him — especially when it comes to getting comfy on the furniture!

She’s toilet trained, non-destructive, and can be left alone without issue. She doesn’t jump up on people and is good with being handled, including her paws, and is making progress with her ears and teeth.

Goose was initially unsure about walks and car rides — she didn’t understand the lead and was nervous about the car.

But she’s made amazing progress: she now jumps into the car on her own and settles quickly, especially when close to her foster buddy Axel.

Her lead work is surprisingly good for a dog with little prior experience.

Goose would thrive in a home that’s ready to continue her training with patience and love.

She’d do well with another friendly dog to show her the ropes or as a solo pup with plenty of human attention.

A family with kids or a calm household would both suit her well — especially one that understands the needs of a young, energetic shepherd mix.

Chandler's great passions are dinner time and snuggles.

Cat of the week: Chandler

Meet Chandler!

This two-year-old domestic short-haired boy is looking for a home filled with good food and good company.

Chandler’s friendly demeanour is sure to steal your heart, as he loves nothing more than spending quality time with his favourite people – except, maybe, snacks.

Chandler has a love for food that rivals his passion for affection.

Mealtime is an event he savours, and if you’re a gourmand you’ll find great joy in watching his contentment as he enjoys his meals.

His fondness for delicious bites is only matched by his affection for tail-over-the-head pats and gentle scratches behind the ears, which will have him purring with contentment.

If you’re searching for a loving and low-key companion who adores snuggles and treats, Chandler is your perfect match.

He is eagerly waiting to find a home where he can share his sweet nature and make someone’s life a little brighter with every whiskered nuzzle.

To arrange a meet-up with Goose or Chandler, fill out the apply to adopt form on the Wollongong City Council website. A council officer will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new furry friend at a convenient location to you. Tank and Sulley both come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm checked and lifetime registered.
