Businesses in Thirroul who rely on a mobile connection have been urged to find an alternative before Monday 13 October.
A Telstra spokesperson said the telco was asked to shut down parts of its mobile base station at Thirroul over a period of 10 days so another network provider could conduct works.
“This will result in some temporary disruption to our mobile services in the area,” the Telstra spokesperson said.
“Telstra mobile customers will receive texts advising of the upcoming work.
“The site will need to be switched off intermittently during the day between 7 am until 5 pm on Monday 13 October to Wednesday 22 October.
“Landline services, NBN and satellite internet services will not be impacted.”
The Telstra spokesperson urged businesses who relied on a mobile connection for essential services, such as processing EFTPOS payments, to make alternative arrangements before the outages begin.
Telstra customers will be able to make calls and send texts during the disruption to mobile services by switching on Wi-Fi Calling.
This is a free setting on most popular mobile phones and allows your mobile to make and receive mobile calls while connected to Wi-Fi.
