Police officer charged over alleged breach of bail

An Illawarra police officer has been suspended with pay after he allegedly breached his bail.

A NSW Police spokesperson said the officer is a 49-year-old Senior Sergeant attached to Southern Region command.

“On Friday 10 October 2025, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police Area Command were notified a man had allegedly attended locations in the Illawarra region,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“Following inquiries, about 6:50 pm on Wednesday 15 October, a 49-year-old man – a Senior Sergeant attached to Southern Region command – was served with a court attendance notice for breach of bail.

“He will appear in Wollongong District Court on Tuesday 28 October 2025.

“The officer remains suspended with pay.”
