Police are asking for the public to help locate a teenage girl missing from the Wollongong area.

Sophie Lyons, aged 12, was last seen on Crown Street, Wollongong, about 6:15 pm on Thursday, 6 November.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District were notified and began enquiries into her whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Sophie’s welfare due to her age.

“Sophie is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 150cm – 155cm tall, of large build, with long brown/red hair and brown eyes,” a NSW Police spokesperson said.

“She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, grey pants and blue joggers.

“Sophie is believed to frequent the Wollongong and Sydney’s CBD areas.”

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
