Raid on Berkeley home unearths drugs, weapons cache

A 34-year-old man has been charged after drugs, knuckle dusters and counterfeit cash were allegedly seized at a Berkeley home.

A NSW Police spokesperson said officers attached to the Southern Operations Support Group executed a search warrant at a home on Halyard Street at about 9 am on Thursday (19 February).

“Officers seized prohibited drugs including methylamphetamine, heroin and liquid GBH, $1000 cash, an electronic stun gun, knuckle duster, makeshift mace, a counterfeit $50 note, and fireworks,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“Two phones were seized for forensic examination.”

A 34-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with nine offences.

These included two counts of supplying a prohibited drug in greater than an indictable quantity, three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, dealing with property suspected to be the proceeds of crime worth less than $100,000 and three counts of possessing or using a prohibited weapon without a permit.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.
