Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while in care with Wollongong Pet Connection.

Dog of the week: Crystal

Meet Crystal!

Crystal is a five-year-old female Siberian husky whose warm heart could break through the iciest exterior.

Crystal is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves attention and enjoys being close to her people.

She has a calm, easy-going nature with playful bursts, especially when she gets to run around the yard with you.

She’s not particularly interested in balls or fetch, but she loves running in circles as a silly game and will happily trot alongside you during outdoor time.

Crystal is generally good with other dogs, though she isn’t overly interested in them and she’s also not particularly drawn to kids.

She is a little wary of some people, so she will need a patient, understanding adopter who can help her feel safe and build trust at her own pace.

Once she has built a relationship with you she loves cuddles and is also comfortable being left on her own.

She walks well on leash and is toilet trained, but could use some ongoing training for basic commands.

Her ideal home would appreciate her low-key affection and loyalty while giving her the consistency and routine she needs to thrive.

Could that be with you?

Shadow

Shadow is a gentleman who likes the finer things in life – food, naps and cuddles. Photo: Wollongong Pet Connection.

Cat of the week: Shadow

Meet Shadow!

This 11-year-old gentleman knows what he likes; a laid-back lifestyle, plenty of R&R time and a best friend to share it all with.

Shadow is a big, handsome domestic short-hair cat with a heart as soft as his purr.

He’s the definition of a chilled‑out companion who is happy to sit beside you, soak in gentle pats and spend his days quietly watching the world go by.

If you’re after a laid‑back, loving presence in your home, Shadow is your guy.

He loves a chat and will greet you with kneading paws and soft meows every time you come close.

He’ll come over for pats and attention (when he’s in the mood – he is a cat, after all) and he absolutely loves being near you, even if he’s just snoozing.

Shadow is not playful at all; this big, sleepy gentleman prefers naps over toys, though he does enjoy crawling through play tunnels when the mood strikes.

He is litter trained and food motivated and would thrive in a quiet, predictable home where he can love on his humans.

To arrange a meet-up with Crystal or Shadow, fill out the apply to adopt form on the Wollongong City Council website. A council officer will contact you to arrange a meet and greet with your potential new furry friend at a convenient location to you. Crystal and Shadow come microchipped, desexed, vaccinated, flea and worm checked and lifetime registered.
