Police believe a body found at Bass Point by scuba divers is that of a fisherman who disappeared on Friday.

A 45-year-old man left Shellharbour Marina on Thursday (25 September). His last contact with authorities was about 11 pm when he indicated he would return at 11 am on Friday.

A police spokesperson said that about 11:30 am on Friday, police were called to Bass Point at Shellharbour, following reports by scuba divers that they had found a man’s body underwater and fishing gear washed up on the shore.
