An appeal for information led to an arrest regarding a Fairy Meadow cold case on Tuesday (24 June) – but police still need your help.
Police allege that at about 6:50 pm on Tuesday, 7 September 2020 three men broke into a store on Cabbage Tree Lane, Fairy Meadow.
One of the men allegedly stabbed the store attendant in the thigh before he stole cash and cigarettes.
Two other store attendants were allegedly held by the other two males but were not physically injured.
The three left the store and were last seen heading south onto Vereker Street, Fairy Meadow.
Following a renewed appeal for information last month, about 10 am on Tuesday (24 June) a 23-year-old man was arrested at Wollongong Police Station.
He was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon cause wounding.
He was refused bail and appeared in Wollongong Local Court.
As investigations continue, police are appealing for information to identify another man who could assist with their inquiries.
He was, at the time, aged in his late teens or early 20s, with a fair to tanned complexion, although his face was covered with a red mask.
He wore a black hooded jumper and black pants with a white stripe. He carried a black and white backpack.
