A Bulli teen has been busted with a firearms stash as part of a statewide police operation.

Operation Amarok XI ran from Wednesday (13 August) to Saturday (16 August) and arrested 865 people.

The intelligence-led, offender-focussed operation also involved specialist officers from Youth Command.

A NSW Police spokesperson said a Bulli home was raided by officers after they were notified a 16-year-old boy had posed with a pistol and uploaded the footage to social media.

“At about 10:15 am on Thursday 14 August 2025, officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended a home in Bulli to serve a Firearms Prohibition Order and Weapons Prohibition Order,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“At the home, police located the [pictured] firearm, two magazines and a small amount of cannabis.

“[The 16-year-old] was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with possession of an unauthorised firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, not keeping a firearm safely and possessing a prohibited drug.”

The boy was granted conditional bail to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday 9 September 2025.

Officers from the strike force were also called to a Figtree home on Woodrow Place about 12:40 am on Wednesday (13 August), following reports of an assault.

“Police will allege a 32-year-old man allegedly physically restrained another man before the 32-year-old man allegedly threatened to kill the man while armed with a knife,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“The man sustained injuries to his hand before he fled the home.

“Upon police arrival, the 32-year-old man allegedly held the knife and resisted arrest.

“He was arrested a short time later and taken to Wollongong Police Station.

“The man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, stalk or intimidate with the intent to fear physical harm, use an offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention and hinder or resist police officers in the execution of their duty. ”

The man was refused bail and appeared in court on Thursday (14 August), where he was formally refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court on Thursday (21 August).
