Symbio Wildlife Park

Symbio Wildlife Park, located in Helensburgh on Sydney’s southern outskirts, is a family-owned and operated zoo established in 1975. Over the years, it has grown from a small park into a multi-award-winning, internationally recognised destination for wildlife encounters and conservation.

Set across 20 acres of landscaped gardens, Symbio is home to a wide range of animals. Visitors can see native Australian species such as kangaroos, koalas, wombats and little penguins, as well as exotic animals including red pandas, meerkats, ring-tailed lemurs, monkeys and cheetahs.

The park offers numerous opportunities for close-up experiences. Guests can feed kangaroos, take a koala photo, or visit the farmyard precinct to meet goats, sheep, chickens and guinea pigs. For those seeking more, behind-the-scenes encounters with red pandas, meerkats or penguins, along with tailored “Zoom” packages, provide additional learning opportunities.

Daily keeper presentations run throughout the day, giving insights into animal behaviour and care. Families will also find practical facilities including shaded picnic areas, undercover shelters, a café, a large playground and Symbio Splash Park, designed for the warmer months.

Positioned at the top of the Illawarra escarpment, Symbio is just minutes from the Royal National Park, Stanwell Park Beach, Sea Cliff Bridge and Bald Hill Lookout. The location offers visitors the chance to combine a zoo experience with some of the region’s best coastal views.

Symbio Wildlife Park is open from 9.30am to 5.00pm daily, except Christmas Day.
