A 23-year-old motorcyclist died in a multi-vehicle accident at Unanderra on Friday night (20 September).
A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services were called to the corner of the Princes Highway and Tannery Street about 8:20 pm after reports of a collision involving a motorcyclist, a bus, a utility and a sedan.
Police were told the motorcycle and bus had been travelling south, and the utility and the sedan heading north, when the motorcycle reportedly overtook the bus.
NSW Ambulance treated the 23-year-old male motorcyclist, but he died at the scene.
The police spokesperson said the 24-year-old driver of the utility allegedly left the scene before later returning.
Both the male bus driver, 54, and the 19-year-old female driver of the sedan, stopped.
All three drivers were arrested and taken to Wollongong Hospital for mandatory testing, before the bus driver and woman were released.
The utility driver was charged with fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing death.
He was refused bail and will appear in Wollongong Local Court on Saturday (21 September).
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
