Police are asking for the public to help them find a child missing from Wollongong.
Sophie Lyons, aged 12, was last seen in Wollongong about 2:15 pm on Wednesday (29 October).
When she could not be found or contacted, officers attached to Wollongong Police District were notified and immediately began inquiries into her whereabouts.
A NSW Police spokesperson said police and family hold serious concerns for Sophie’s welfare due to her young age.
Sophie is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 150 cm tall, with a medium build and long red hair.
She was last seen wearing a blue jumper, black pants, blue joggers and carrying a black backpack.
Sophie is known to frequent the Wollongong and Sydney CBD areas.
Inquiries have established that she was seen exiting Central Railway Station towards Chalmers Street, Surry Hills, about 8:30 pm on Wednesday (29 October).
