Five of the teenagers charged in relation to the stabbing death of a man at Dunmore have had their charges upgraded to murder.
Of the five teens, a 13-year-old boy, two boys aged 14, a 15-year-old girl, and a 16-year-old boy, two of the teen boys, aged 14 and 16, were also charged with affray.
A 15-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman were earlier charged with murder over the incident. They remain before the court.
The initial charges were laid after emergency services were called to Saturn Crescent, Dunmore, at about 3 pm on Tuesday 28 January 2025.
A 25-year-old man was found suffering serious stab wounds.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he could not be revived.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District established Strike Force Feods and commenced an investigation into the incident with the assistance of State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
Initial investigations revealed the man had allegedly been stabbed during a fight involving a number of people who left in an SUV.
The vehicle was later recovered in Albion Park Rail and seized for forensic examination.
The oldest boy will appear in a children’s court on Tuesday (21 October).
The remaining five teenagers will appear in a children’s court on Tuesday 28 October.
The woman most recently appeared in Wollongong Local Court on Wednesday (15 October).
