Police are asking for the public to help them find an elderly man missing from Albion Park.

A NSW Police spokesperson said Jeffery Berthaly, aged 84, was last seen around 10:30 am on Thursday (8 January), leaving a residence on Daintree Drive, Albion Park.

When he failed to return home and could not be found or contacted, officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District were notified and began inquiries into his whereabouts.

Family and police hold concerns for Jeffery’s welfare due to his age, and the fact he is unfamiliar with the area.

He was last seen wearing a black zip-up jumper, white short-sleeved collared shirt, blue jeans and black shoes and a black and white baseball cap.

Jeffery is known to frequent the Dapto and Albion Park areas and is known to hitch-hike around the area. He may have caught public transport.
