UPDATED: M1 reopens after multi-vehicle crash

UPDATED 2:30 PM: The M1 Princes Motorway has reopened after an earlier multi-vehicle crash.

The M1 Princes Motorway is closed southbound at Mount Ousley Road between Picton Road and Mount Ousley Road Exit after a crash involving multiple vehicles, including at least one truck today (27 November).

A NSW Police spokesperson said those involved had only sustained minor injuries.

“About 10am on Wednesday 27 November emergency services were called to the Princes Highway, Keiraville following reports of a crash,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“On arrival, officers attached to Wollongong Police District found six vehicles involved in a crash and a truck overturned.

“The driver, a 28-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.

“Inquiries into the incident have commenced.”

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use an alternative route. The Picton Rd southbound on-ramp to M1 Princes Motorway at Mount Ousley Road has also been closed.

Due to debris on the road, police anticipate it will be closed for several hours.

Only light vehicles can use Picton Road and Mount Keira Road.

Alternatively, all vehicles under 19 m and 50.5 t can use Bulli Pass.

B-doubles should consider parking up in a safe location.
