A man has been charged over a fatal pedestrian crash in Wollongong.
At about 7 pm on Friday 30 August, emergency services were called to Flinders Street Wollongong after reports a pedestrian was struck by two cars travelling in opposite directions.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 57-year-old man, however, he died at the scene.
The drivers of the vehicles – both men aged 66 and 54 – were taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Wollongong Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
A NSW Police spokesperson said following inquiries, at about 11:45 am on Monday (9 September), a 66-year-old man attended Wollongong Police Station.
He was arrested and charged with negligent driving occasioning death.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 22 October 2024.
