UPDATED 5:37 PM: Police have reopened Picton Rd in both directions, heavy traffic is expected through the area.
A man has died in a two-vehicle crash on Picton Road this afternoon (2 February).
A sedan and van collided at the intersection of Picton Road and Mt Keira Road at about 1:30 pm.
NSW Police said the male driver of the sedan died at the scene and is yet to be formally identified.
NSW Ambulance Helicopter responded, landing on Picton Road.
The male driver of the van suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to St George Hospital in stable condition.
Picton Road is blocked in both directions. There is no access to Picton Road eastbound from the Hume Motorway. Instead, motorists should take Narellan Road to Appin Road.
