UPDATED: Son arrested following man's death at Farmborough Heights home

UPDATED 1:50 pm: A 48-year-old man has been arrested and is being questioned at Lake Illawarra Police Station following the discovery of his father’s body. A neighbour found the man with significant head injuries lying in the backyard of his Farmborough Heights home on Sunday, but police fear he could have been there since Thursday (1 February). They have urged anyone who may have information about the man between Thursday and Sunday to come forward.

A 74-year-old man was found dead in a Farmborough Heights backyard on Sunday night (4 February).

Emergency services were called to a home on Primrose Place just after 6 pm, after reports a man was found with serious head injuries.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended, however, the man was deceased.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
