Man in serious condition after fall from Wollongong unit

A Wollongong man has been flown to hospital after he fell from a three-storey building.

A NSW Police spokesperson said at about 7:30 am on Wednesday (18 December), police attended a third-floor unit in Bligh Street, Wollongong, as part of an ongoing investigation.

“As police arrived, a 50-year-old man fell when he allegedly tried to climb down the building,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“NSW Ambulance treated him for facial, head and spinal injuries before he was taken to Wollongong Hospital.

“He has now been airlifted to St George Hospital in a serious condition.”

A critical incident has been declared and a critical incident team from South Coast Police District will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s fall.

The incident is also subject to an independent review.
