Jamberoo Mountain Road will be closed to all traffic for about nine weeks to widen the road near Barren Grounds.

The road will be closed between Misty Lane and Knights Hill.

The closures will take effect from Monday 15 June, between 9 am and 4 pm from Monday to Friday. One lane will remain open outside of these hours.

Kiama Council says both the width of the embankment and the stormwater pipe under the road will be lengthened to improve safety.

Motorists should detour via Picton Road and Kangaroo Valley Road during the closures.

Access for residents and emergency services will be managed under traffic control arrangements.

Jamberoo Mountain Road, the key connection between Kiama and Robertson, was closed for almost a year after severe weather caused dangerous landslips in 2022.
