A police investigation is under way into the death of a pedestrian on Flinders Street, Wollongong, on Friday (30 August).
A NSW Police spokesperson said emergency services were called about 7 pm on Friday, after reports a pedestrian was struck by two cars travelling in opposite directions.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the pedestrian – a 56-year-old man from the Wollongong region – however, he died at the scene,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.
“He is yet to be formally identified.
“The drivers of the vehicles – both men aged 66 and 54 – were taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
“Officers attached to Wollongong Police District established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.”
No charges have been laid.
