Police are appealing to the public for any information regarding an alleged break and enter in the Illawarra from more than three years ago.

On Thursday 9 February 2023 at around 7 am, police were called to a unit in East Corrimal following reports of a break and enter.

They were told two men had allegedly entered the unit and assaulted and threatened a 39-year-old man and 37-year-old woman inside, stolen two gold rings and a watch and then left the scene on an e-bike.

The two who were allegedly assaulted were treated by NSW Ambulance, with the man having suffered head injuries and the woman having facial injuries, and taken to Wollongong Hospital.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

Later that same month, a 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with special aggravated break and enter.

Now police are appealing for information on a second man who was seen at the location at the time of the incident, who they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is described as tall, with a medium build and at the time was wearing navy shorts, a black Nike-brand hoody, red hat, a black face mask and black sunglasses.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Wollongong Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
