Police have charged a fifth person, a 13-year-old boy, following a fatal stabbing at Dunmore in January.
The boy is the fourth child to be charged in relation to the death.
Emergency services were called to Saturn Crescent, Dunmore, about 3 pm on 28 January, where a 25-year-old man was found critically injured.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man for a stab wound to his abdomen, however he died at the scene.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District commenced an investigation under Strike Force Feods, with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.
Initial investigations revealed the man had allegedly been stabbed while being assaulted by a number of people who fled in an Isuzu MU-X.
The vehicle was later recovered in Albion Park Rail and seized for forensic examination.
A 38-year-old woman, 15-year-old boy and two 13-year-old boys have already been charged in relation to the incident and remain before the courts.
A NSW Police spokesperson said following inquiries, about 9:50 am on Monday (17 February), a 13-year-old boy was arrested at Lake Illawarra Police Station.
He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, affray, and custody of a knife in a public place.
The boy was granted conditional bail to appear in a Children’s Court on 8 April.
