A police vigil at a Mount St Thomas home has ended, but the facts surrounding the death of a man at the premises remain a mystery.

NSW Police were called to a home on Gladstone Avenue at about 8:35 am on Friday (1 November), following reports of a concern for welfare.

When officers attended the home, they found a man deceased.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, has not yet been publicly identified.

A crime scene was established at the home, and police were on the premises for almost a week.

On Thursday (7 November), they were still unable to provide any additional information about how the man died, whether nearby residents should take additional safety precautions, or whether police are looking for a particular person in connection with the death.

A NSW Police spokesperson said investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
