“Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command attended and were told a large explosion had been heard,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a property on Estonian Road, Thirlmere, at about 4:20 pm on Friday (8 August) with assistance from officers attached to the Tactical Operations Unit.

“Police located and seized a number of items from the property including two gel blasters, two stun devices, two knives, a slingshot, a canister of OC spray, a blow dart gun and a tablet, believed to be methamphetamine.”

A 40-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Narellan Police Station, where he was charged with one count of possessing, supplying or making an explosive for an unlawful purpose.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Picton Local Court on Thursday (14 August).
