Shellharbour’s annual Carols by Candlelight, due to be held tonight (Friday 12 December) at Croome Road Sporting Complex, has been cancelled.
A Shellharbour City Council spokesperson said the council made the decision in light of ongoing rain and electrical storm activity that have already affected preparations for the event.
“It hasn’t been safe for the team and contractors to set up on site and the grounds are no longer suitable for the picnic style celebration we had planned,” the spokesperson said.
“We know many families look forward to this event each year, which makes this decision even harder.”
