Rider stable after Macquarie Pass crash

A 52-year-old man is in a stable condition at Wollongong Hospital after an accident on Macquarie Pass over the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the Illawarra Highway at Macquarie Pass shortly after noon on Sunday 10 November, following reports of a crash involving a car and motorcycle.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the rider – a 52-year-old man – at the scene before he was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A NSW Police spokesperson said the driver of the car – a 43-year-old man – was not injured.

“He was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a negative result,” the NSW Police spokesperson said.

“Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District have commenced inquiries into the incident.”

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has confirmed the rider, who remains in hospital, is in a stable condition.
