Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for their forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter.

Dog of the week: Cherry

Meet Cherry!

Cherry is a three-year-old British bulldog seeking a calm, peaceful home.

Naturally confident and gentle, Cherry dreams of a home where she can be the star of the show and the perfect canine companion to a family of her own.

Like many bulldogs, Cherry will thrive with an experienced owner who understands her needs.

She may need a little training to become the perfect friend she was always meant to be, but with patience and plenty of love, Cherry promises to reward her carers with endless loyalty and affection.

Cherry’s ideal home would have a secure outdoor space where she can enjoy the fresh air and sun.

She loves routine and company and is eager to settle into the rhythm of her new family’s daily life.

Cherry wouldn’t enjoy living with cats or other smaller pets but, for the right family, she promises to be the most devoted dog you could ask for.

Horse of the week: Gatsby

Meet Gatsby!

Gatsby is a handsome thoroughbred gelding ready to find his well-earned forever home.

Due to a past dental injury, 15-year-old Gatsby is no longer fit to be ridden.

He’d like to stress this injury has no effect on his appetite or his enthusiasm for carrots, his favourite treat.

Instead of a rider, Gatsby has set his sights on a life of companionship and love, in a home where he can be cherished and cared for by someone who looks forwarding to sharing quality time with him.

Because of his age Gatsby would be best suited to living with a carer who is confident and experienced around horses, someone who can give him the space, reassurance, and love he would need to adjust to a new routine.

In return, Gatsby promises to be a steady and affectionate presence, sharing his warm, calm vibes with his new forever family.

Please remember that a PIC number is required to adopt a horse.

Previously featured RSPCA Pets of the Week Tam and Brownie are still looking for their forever homes.
