Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter.
Dog of the week: Daisy
Meet Daisy!
Daisy is a spritely three-year-old Siberian husky with a heart full of love and a story to share. After overcoming surgery on her front leg, Daisy is fully healed and ready to embark on the next chapter of her life with her forever family.
True to her Husky roots, Daisy is a lively and intelligent companion who loves to explore the great outdoors. Huskies make fantastic pets for active families as they’re playful, loyal, and they thrive on adventure.
While Daisy enjoys her playful moments, she also cherishes quiet time in the fresh air, making her an ideal match for a home with indoor/outdoor access and a secure yard where she can stretch her legs.
Daisy can be a bit shy when meeting new people and might need a few introductions to feel fully comfortable. An owner with patience and understanding will be essential for Daisy as she learns to trust. Once she does, she’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty and all the love she can give.
Because Daisy prefers to be the center of attention, she needs to be the only dog in her new home. Her ideal family will have experience with huskies and a good understanding of their unique quirks and energy levels. She’s best suited for a household without young children where her space and personality can truly shine.
To ensure she stays looking as beautiful as ever, it’s also essential that Daisy’s new family understands her grooming needs, as her gorgeous coat will require regular seasonal grooming to help keep her looking and feeling her best!
Rabbit of the week: Pip
Meet Pip, a charming four-month-old grey lop rabbit who has been patiently waiting for his perfect forever family for more than 100 days.
This little bun came into the shelter as a stray, and unfortunately nobody ever came to pick him up. Despite his humble beginnings, Pip is now safe, healthy, and ready to hop into your heart.
Pip is a sweet and gentle soul who can be a bit shy at first. He’s looking for a loving human who can help him build his confidence and show him that the world isn’t so scary after all. With a bit of patience and plenty of treats, Pip will reward you with his warm companionship and adorable personality.
Rabbits make incredible pets, due to the fact they’re clean, quiet, and can form strong bonds with their humans. They love to play, explore, and even learn tricks and be litter trained. With his adorable floppy ears and curious nature, Pip is no exception and is sure to bring joy to any home.
Pip would thrive in a calm environment where he can enjoy daily adventures and quiet time at his own pace. A secure hutch that’s big enough for him to run around in and protected from the elements, as well as mosquitos, will ensure Pip stays his healthy happy self. An owner who understands that rabbits need daily time outside of their hutches to explore, exercise and spend time with their humans is a must.
Last week’s pets Juno and India are still waiting for their forever homes.
