Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter!
Dog of the week: Diesel
Meet Diesel!
Diesel is an active two-year-old fox terrier who can’t wait to meet you.
Diesel is a bundle of enthusiasm and excitement who is always eager to explore the great outdoors and embark on new adventures.
With his boundless energy and zest for life, he’s the perfect companion for an active family seeking a four-legged partner to join in on fun-filled escapades.
Diesel would suit a home with experienced owners who are home more often than not, as he does tend to miss his humans when they are away.
While Diesel may be small in stature, he makes up for it with his big personality and endless charm.
Due to his spirited nature, he would do best in a home with children over the age of six who can match his energy levels and participate in his playful antics.
His new home will also need to have secure fencing with no small holes or gaps, just so Diesel can’t take himself on any unauthorised adventures!
Rest is also important for a growing pup. An active dog like Diesel needs his beauty sleep so he can keep giving life his all! Having a nice, quiet space like his own bed or crate to catch some much-needed z’s after a big day would be ideal for him.
He is a social boy who gets along well with other dogs of a similar, friendly, and playful nature, so if you have another dog at home, please bring them in to meet him to make sure they will be friends!
If you’re ready to add a bundle of joy and excitement to your life, consider opening your heart and home to Diesel.
Bunny of the week: Smokey
Meet Smokey!
Smokey is a lovable one-year-old, male, lop ear rabbit.
After some adventuring, Smokey found himself at the Illawarra shelter as a stray and unfortunately his owners never came to claim him.
Smokey is a clever, curious boy who loves to see what his humans are up to. He would love a home that understands important bunny business and can provide him with all he needs to thrive.
Patience is key when it comes to Smokey, as with most rabbits.
He may be a little shy at first around new people, but with time and gentle encouragement (plus some treats) he’s certain to warm up to you.
Smokey is a bit of a guts – so tasty snacks are the way to his heart. He loves his food and his new home will have plenty of delicious hay to eat as well as fresh greens and veggies each day to ensure he stays as happy and healthy as can be.
A calmer home environment will help him feel safe and secure as he learns to feel comfortable in his new surroundings.
As you can tell, Smokey is a dashing gentleman with a beautiful blue point coat.
He’s a stickler for good grooming and loves to make sure he’s always looking his best by giving himself regular grooms.
Aside from being the cutest thing ever, regular grooming ensures he won’t get any nasty bunny fur balls and remain as handsome as ever.
This adorable boy cannot wait to find his forever home and dreams of a new life where he can enjoy the warm morning sunshine as well as cozy cuddles inside on those cool autumn nights.
Last week’s pets of the week, Destiny and Chai are still on the hunt for their new homes.
