Meet our loveable Pets of the Week looking for their forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter.
Dog of the week: Feather
Feather is a gentle six-year-old German shepherd searching for a calm, understanding home.
After braving a rough road to reach the RSPCA, Feather is a little shyer than the average canine companion.
She may take time to warm up to new people and environments, but with patience, kindness and consistency, Feather’s unwaveringly loyal and deeply affectionate nature always comes through.
True to her breed, Feather is observant and fiercely intelligent. She does, however, look to her humans for reassurance when something feels off or unfamiliar.
She would thrive in a home with predictable routines and calm, confident carers who can support her as she settles in. In the right environment, she is beautifully well-mannered, toilet trained and always content to relax beside her people.
Feather may be especially timid around other dogs, meaning any existing dogs in her future family’s home will need to meet her before her adoption to ensure a good match. She would greatly benefit from carefully arranged introductions, ideally with a companion of similar temperament and (if possible) a slightly smaller size.

Rabbit of the week: Pamela
Pamela is a little English lop with the softest floppy ears and a soft heart to match who’s looking for a home where she can feel safe, settled and cherished.
With her easy-going personality, Pamela is both curious and cuddly once she gets to know you.
She enjoys gentle pats, exploring cosy hideaways and nibbling on fresh greens, making her a delightful companion for those who appreciate quieter and more reliable animal companions.
Pamela would be a perfect match for someone who values structure, routine and a peaceful home environment.
She gets along with people of all ages, including children who know how to treat small animals like Pamela with gentleness and respect.
A secure outdoor space is essential for her wellbeing – whether that’s an enclosed yard or a safe enclosure attached to your home.
Feather and Pamela are awaiting adoption at the RSPCA NSW Illawarra Shelter. Visit the RSPCA at 54 Industrial Road, Unanderra and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
