Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter
Dog of the week: Lady
Lady is a gentle two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel patiently waiting for the home of her dreams.
When Lady first arrived at the Illawarra shelter, she was a little shy and nervous.
Luckily, she was placed into a lovely foster home where she was able to slowly build her confidence.
While she has come so far already, she still has a little bit to go and will need a patient and comforting owner who can help her continue to come out of her shell.
She can be fearful of new people, and is a little wary of men, so for this reason Lady would prefer a home that has one to two females so she can continue to build her trust.
Lady would also benefit from a home that is quiet and calm with indoor and outdoor access, so she can take her time adjusting in her new surroundings and learn that she is safe and loved in her new home.
If you already have your own doggo friend, that’s OK! During Lady’s time in her foster home, she showed interest in the home’s calm-natured dogs, but tended to do her own thing.
She would love to meet any dogs you already have at home to see if they can be friends.
Although Lady is a special girl with some special requirements, her foster mum says she is well worth the effort.
With patience and love you will be cuddling on the couch in no time. If you would like to meet this beautiful Lady in waiting, contact the Illawarra shelter.
Cat of the week: Kenny
Kenny is a charming one-year-old tabby boy looking for his perfect family.
Tabby cats are known for their distinctive coats and their playful nature, and Kenny is no exception. This dashing boy is full of beans and has lots of love to give. He can’t wait until he has a home of his own with friends to play with and a loving owner to snuggle.
Kenny is a sweet and friendly cat with a playful spirit and plenty of energy. He loves exploring and discovering hidden corners of the house as well as playing with his toys.
Despite being an adult, Kenny is young at heart, always ready for a game of chase or an impromptu cuddle session.
Kenny has his quirks, as we all do. He is a very clean and tidy gentleman and likes his environment to be the same.
That’s why he’ll need to have owners who can supply him with a few litterboxes around the house so that he always has a spot to go that’s up to his gentlemanly standards.
With big green eyes and whiskers galore, what’s not to love?
