Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter
Dog of the week: Link
Meet Link!
Link is a sweet three-year-old beagle cross looking for his new home.
Link would suit a quieter home with adopters who are experienced with more timid adolescent pups with big, goofy personalities.
He’d love to be included as part of the family, coming both inside and outdoors, but he will also need his own safe space, such as a crate, where he can have a bone and chillax on his own to practise independence.
Link is a lovable and boisterous boy, which means that any children in the home will need to be over 15 years of age and confident around dogs.
Link doesn’t mind some downtime at home, as long as you leave him with some fun toys, a lasting chew and a water bowl, he should be happy until you get home!
Link can be a little intimidated by other dogs and would prefer an older, calm companion that he can learn good habits and skills from, so if you have another dog at home of this nature, please bring them in to meet him.
Training is one of Link’s favourite activities, mostly because it means there are delicious treats nearby! He will benefit from continued training which is a great opportunity for bonding between him and his new family.
If Link sounds like the sweet, lovable boy for you, head to the RSPCA Illawarra shelter and meet him right away!
Cat of the week: Kiko
Meet Kiko!
Kiko is a beautiful eight-month-old domestic short hair looking for a loving home.
A friendly girl, Kiko is always ready to greet staff with a soft purr and loves to be by her human’s side. With her gorgeous raven coat, bright white whiskers and big, round eyes, it’s hard not to fall in love with this sweet lady!
Kiko has lived with children over six before and enjoys their company and attention, however she can still be a little reserved in new places. This means it is best she goes home to a family with a quieter home and children that are around the same age that she is used to, just so she can adjust as easily as possible.
Kiko is an independent girl who is full of charm and loves to march to the beat of her own drum. While she values her independence, she’s never one to shy away from a good cuddle or affectionate scratch behind the ears. Her unique mixture of sociability and calmness makes her the perfect companion for those seeking a feline friend who can provide both companionship and space.
Kiko is hoping that her forever family is just around the corner and is ready to bring her home!
Last week’s pets of the week, Bugs and Annabeth are still patiently waiting for their forever homes.
Visit the RSPCA at 54 Industrial Rd, Unanderra, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
