Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter!
Dog of the week: Maloney
Meet Maloney! Maloney is a playful three-month-old Great Dane cross pup who can’t wait to meet you!
If you’re after an enthusiastic, but not overly energetic dog, Maloney could be the boy for you.
Maloney is keen to learn all about the world.
He has enjoyed learning new tricks with staff at the RSPCA shelter and will need to continue this training when he goes home, so he grows up to become a well-mannered giant.
He can’t wait to go to puppy school and not only learn how to be the best pup ever but also meet lots of doggy friends along the way.
Maloney will suit a home where he can enjoy indoor time with plenty of cuddles but also venture out into the world for some exercise with his new family.
The other pups at the shelter have told him how amazing this thing called ‘walkies‘ is and he can’t wait to try it once he’s had all his puppy vaccinations.
Though he loves to play, Maloney also loves to sleep.
Great Danes are notorious for loving their nap time and are surprisingly a low-energy level breed, preferring to put their efforts into giving their loved ones all the sloppy kisses they can muster rather than running around all day.
A nice secure crate or comfy bed would go down a treat for this beautiful boy to snooze the day away.
Maloney also wouldn’t mind a brother or sister, whether of the human or dog variety.
If you have any children or other dogs at home the RSPCA recommends you bring them to the shelter to meet him and make sure everyone hits it off.
To arrange a meet and greet with Maloney, call the Illawarra shelter on (02) 4271 3410.
Cat of the Week: Moo Moo
Meet Moo Moo! Moo Moo is a sassy two-year old domestic short hair girl on the lookout for her forever home.
This confident little lady adores her food and loves coming out to greet her humans in the morning with some melodic meows before devouring her breakfast.
Moo Moo is an affectionate and independent girl who knows what she wants (a lovely pat and scratch) and what she doesn’t want (to be picked up and held tightly).
Though she can be a little shy around new people, once you earn Moo Moo’s trust she lets you know right away – dishing out adorable head bunts and plenty of purrs to tell you she likes you!
Her perfect home would be on the quieter side with no small children.
Due to her big and beautiful personality, she would also be best as the only cat in the home, just so she doesn’t have to share the limelight (or her food!).
If this lively girl sounds like your missing puzzle piece please call the Illawarra shelter on (02) 4271 3410.
Visit the RSPCA at 54 Industrial Rd, Unanderra, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
Opening hours: Tuesday – Sunday, 10 am – 3:30 pm. Closed Mondays and public holidays.
