Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter
Dog of the week: Pepper
Meet Pepper! Pepper is a playful two-year-old Irish wolfhound cross looking for her new home.
Pepper is a loving, excitable and happy girl who can’t wait to start her new life. At only two years old, she has a lot to learn about the world but a lot to offer it as well!
Pepper would love nothing more than to join you for your daily walks and snuggle up on the couch with you of an evening.
She would suit a home with experienced owners who are able to spend some time with her each week to help her with her training, as she is still young.
Pepper gets along well with children; they will just need to be over six years of age and confident around dogs as she can get a bit bouncy when she is excited!
She doesn’t mean to, she just wants to release all of her happy wiggles when it’s time for a walk or some treats.
Pepper gets very excited around new doggy friends so it may be best that she is the only dog in the home, though she may get along with another calm and friendly dog if they can handle her energy.
If you have another dog at home, please bring them in to see if they will be friends.
If she sounds like the ball of love and energy you have been waiting for, please contact the Illawarra Shelter.
Cat of the week: Mischa
Meet Mischa!
Mischa is a sweet 11-year-old senior girl looking for a loving home to live out the rest of her days.
Unfortunately, Mischa’s previous owners moved house and couldn’t take her with them. She is a soft-spoken lady who has seen many sunrises and hopes to see many more beside the humans she loves most.
Mischa has learned to appreciate the simple joys in life – a warm spot to nap, a gentle pat and a belly full of delicious food.
She is friendly and a sweet girl, but she also values her independence.
Due to her age, it’s best she goes home to an adult household that understands that while she still enjoys a play here and there, she may not be as active as she once was.
Mischa isn’t one to demand constant attention, but when you need a loyal friend, she’ll be there. She dreams of a quiet home where she can be the only cat and enjoy her own space.
Mischa isn’t looking for much, just a peaceful place to spend her golden years. Why adopt Mischa? Because every home needs a loyal friend, a quiet companion, and a sweet soul, and that’s Mischa!
Last week’s Cat of the Week, Annabeth, has been adopted, however Benji, Jupiter, Moo Moo, Christopher and Bugs are still waiting for their forever homes.
Visit the RSPCA at 54 Industrial Rd, Unanderra, and add a new companion to your life – you won’t regret it!
Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 3:30 pm. Closed Mondays and public holidays. Call (02) 4271 3410.
