Meet our lovable Pets of the Week looking for forever homes while at the RSPCA Illawarra Shelter
Dog of the week: Pizza
Meet Pizza!
Pizza is a sweet, lovable, two-year-old lady looking for her forever home.
Not to be cheesy, but Pizza is a perfect slice of love.
She enjoys solving enrichment puzzles, playing with her doggy friends at the shelter, and curling up in her bed for a nap in the afternoon sun.
Pizza would thrive in a home where she can be part of the family, joining in for regular walks and snuggling up by your feet in the evening.
She gets along well with other playful dogs, so if you already have a furry friend at home, bring them in to see if Pizza might be the perfect addition to your pack!
Pizza would do best in a home with children over six years old who are confident around dogs. She needs a home without small pocket pets or birds, as she might mistake them for a snack.
When you have to step out, dough not worry, Pizza will be content with some fun toys, tasty treats, and a comfy bed to relax in until you return. Enrichment activities and room to exercise will ensure this sweet gal stays in tip-top shape!
At only two years old, there’s a lot left for Pizza to learn about the world. What she does know is that playtime, kisses and cuddles are the best! A home that can continue to build her confidence and watch her thrive, as well as provide some basic doggy training, would be absolutely bellissima!
If you’ve got spare space in your heart and home for Pizza, make sure you contact the Illawarra shelter – she doesn’t need mush-room! Just a loving family for a loving girl.
Pizza is currently spending some time in foster care, so be sure to fill out an expression of interest form on the RSPCA website to arrange a meet and greet!
Pigeon of the week: Echo
Meet Echo!
As Billie Eilish said, If you go, I’m going (home with you) too!
Echo is a charming domestic pigeon with a big personality, eagerly looking for a forever home where they can feather their nest with lots of love and attention.
Echo’s playful spirit and unique character make them a delightful companion.
When they arrived at the shelter as a stray, Echo had conveniently forgotten to bring their ID with them, so we’re unsure of how old or what gender Echo may be. Echo is definitely an adult bird, however, for the meantime they are living the undercover life and loving it!
Pigeons like Echo are incredible pets. They’re intelligent, social, and surprisingly affectionate. They form strong bonds with their human caretakers and can even learn to recognise faces.
Pigeons are low maintenance, but they do need a large aviary or pigeon coop to keep them safe, especially if you plan to let Echo enjoy free flight during the day.
Birds of a feather should stick together you know!
If you’re ready to welcome a feathered friend into your life, come meet Echo. They never said they’d be better alone, and if it’s forever, even better!
